Holly,

Please call your surgeon and make a follow up appointment, there could be some things that didn't go quite as smooth as it should have, especially if your pain has just started to spike back through.  Welcome to our forum and we hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Hollydawn,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us but very sorry to hear that you have new pain.

You know your body better than anyone else. If you beleive this pain needs immediate medical attention than that is exactly what you should do. Have it evaluated.

It is reported that following a Cholecystectomy one out of every ten ppl will still experience some symptoms. Surgery does not guarantee that you will never have pain again. Remember the organ that regulated the distribution of bile has been removed. Some issued can present after your gallbladder is removed.

The Bile Duct, stone in that Duct or the Sphincter of Oddi is sometimes suspected in ppl that experience biliary-type pain following a Cholecystectomy.

Make the best decision you can now but be sure to follow up with your surgeon or PCP. I hope you will keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I sincerely hope that you will receive a clean bill of health. I'll look forward to your updates.

Take Care,
~Tuck

Hello Holly  and welcome to the pain management forum .We are all pain patients here there are no doctors .We all share our experiences with each other and try to help others that are fellow sufferers .My advice to you is have it checked out .If it is bothering you that much I think that would be the best thing to do to ease your mind .Also a lot of people are really in tune with their bodies and can feel if something is not right .I am by no means saying there is anything wrong but I think for your own peace of mind and to ensure nothing is wrong you need to go back to your surgeon and let him check it out .If you can't get in to see him right away then I would go to urgent care .I hope everything works out great for you and I hope you will post back and let us know how it all goes .

Take care
Melissa
