Tomorrow is my first Pm appt... What do I expect...

Hi,  so I am living with chronic pain.  I have 7 slipped disks,  a curvature of my spine and fibromyalgia. Tomorrow is my first pm appt.  I want to be fixed be better what have you.  But I'm also coming to terms with the fact that I'll never really be fixed.  I am willing to do anything at this point.

I keep getting the run around from my Dr's and I am having a hard time with this pain.  I want to know if my Pm Dr is going to prescribe me something for pain while we try and figure out injection,  blocks,  epidural or even surgery.  I just was some relief and it feels like no one is listening to me.  I'm really nervous I'm going to leave without an rx because I'm really really hurting and tired of going to the er...

I'm so sorry you're going through this.
Your records show that you are in pain. You may know that we have new guidelines these days that most Drs follow. Many would rather try every other kind of treatment because giving us a prescription.
It's hard to say what will happen because all pain Drs are different. Since you will be seeing a pain Dr he/she will most likely have you fill out a contract. You will probably be asked to fill out other paper work describing your pain levels and such too. They may ask for a urine test. You might have to wait for the urine test to come back before your Dr prescribes any pain medication.
I really hope this new Dr works out for you and you get the help you need.
