Help diagnose this, please!

I have had this on and off pain in my left leg for about 6 years. The pain is worst behind the knee and it radiates around; it can be on my shin or hamstring even on my heel. It usually comes 2-3 times a year for 2 days to 2 weeks. The pain is usually felt when resting or sitting and it helps to walk for a while but not always and for only a short while. My leg is never perfectly normal even when off the pain; it is less mobile(when sitting I can't even raise it half the way I can raise my right leg). Last time the pain came i even felt pain in the lower back/ buttocks (maybe the si-joint). The pain was worst when turning my side in bed. Now after starting to workout and stretching again I hope to make it better. But now my right side (maybe rhomboid) is flaring up, probably just muscle strain but now I feel that my upper back is weaker on the right side. I think my back or pelvis is never straight and I find it hard to get perfectly comfortable when on my back. And I do have a stiff neck and upper back(more on the right side) that might be because of sitting at the computer or it might be related. Oh, my right shoulder is lower than my left one, this I noticed about 3 months ago. So now I fear scoliosis. Is it possible that all this has escalated and now it would be seen in a MRI? I have had 2 MRI's (last one about 3 years ago before any back pain) with no results. And I am a 19 year old male. Nerves seemed to be fine and the physiatrist and orthopedist found nothing seriously wrong around 4 years back. And they gave me no explanation to, what is going on. No that's a bit incorrect, the orthopedist said that my unusually straight back can cause stuff like it, but he didn't give me any help about taking the pain away. This might be the wrong category for this but I don't have money to put it in the paid categories. Thanks for the help!

Good that you found some help. I've been thinking my problem is some sort of pelvic unbalance and I should definitely go to see a chiro. Thanks for your comment. The weird part is that the pain I have is much less than 4 years ago but I think it is spreading around my body...

Hi! I posted about this same thing a few days ago. Mine is in my right leg and goes right down to my foot. I do have some pain in the back thigh, but most of it is in the knee and below. It comes and goes and is worse when I am sitting and driving. I also get very uncomfortable with I lay down on my right side. I have to sleep on my back, or left side. Pressure from a seat/chair on the back of my knee is very uncomfortable. I have had this before, years ago, and I think I have had it a few times, though maybe not this bad. I have been going to the chiropractor and she tells me it's coming from the sciatic, lower back, and thats why I am getting pain in the lower back and butt cheek. I do feel better after I go for an adjustment and that can last for up to 2 days. Good luck, Hope all goes well. bjk
