Hi Kathy,
I had that same diagnosis, bursitis I never did agree with him.. But.. now my Ns has suggested my pain is illiac crest related. I did some research and on wikipedia under sacroilliac joint. The symptons are EXACTLY what I experience. Thorocolumbar dysfunction has similar symptons. I have reduced leg pain when driving since I had a 2- level fusion, but I am still having severe leg pain when I'm lying down. I don't sleep for very long before my hips and legs hurt so bad I'm up and walking around, then end my night on the couch. Miserable. I have a 5 year old and recently went back to work. Something's gonna give eventually. I am waiting to be scheduled for bilateral SI joint injections, and I'm hoping they will do the trick. I had to bring up the topic of SI joiont dysfunction to my PM Dr., he wanted to try protherapy. I don't think that would do anything for me. So I'm doing the joint injections. I hope yoou get to the bottom of your problem, it's a frustrating process, but if you help your Dr. along by doing some research you may get faster results. Keep us informed on what you find out.

Hello Kathy,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am sorry you are having pain that is undiagnosed.
I have hip bursitis also. It was DX some years ago but my pain continued also, for years. I was finally seen by a Doctor of Osteopathy. She recognizied my pain as SI Joint Dysfunction. I am not saying that is what is causing your pain. I would at least eliminate that possibility. Sacroiliac Joint pain often goes undiagnosed because it is so rare.
I wish you the best of luck. Please keep us updated and let us know how you are doing. Take Care, Tuck
