I do appreciate all of your comments and suggestions I have called my PM doc and aam going to meet with him and hopefully this will help. I have been filled out for disability for 2 and a half years now still nothing. I hate to getr any government assistance but over the years I have seen plenty on it that didn't even need it here I am legitimately hurt and can't get it its crazy how messed up our system is. God bless all of you for your understanding and compassion that you have for a stranger and I hope your loads get lighter and pain gets better. I will find out if the doctors is going to help or not next monday and I will keep you guys infomed. Thanks
I agree with the others. I think you really need to start the disability process. It can take up to two years to get approved but it can definitely take a load off of your shoulders once it is approved.
My only son is on the autism spectrum as well and I am sole provider for my family. So, I totally understand what you mean about care of special needs children particularly those with Autism. Fentanyl Transdermal allows me to continue to work full time while my husband stays at home and watches our son. Granted I am able to work from home during pain flares and go out on intermittent disability when it is really bad.
Whatever you do, DO NOT give up HOPE! Your family loves and needs you!
I am one of those that is not against marijuana at all. I live in Colorado and have a MMJ license and I have used MMJ in the past and it truly helped my pain so I know that it does have medicinal properties; however, I know MMJ is illegal in Ohio.
Methadone is a very powerful pain killer. There are some dangerous drawbacks that you have to watch out for such as QT interval prolongation. The key is to not take more than you truly need. You could go to a methadone clinic to get the medication; however, it could black ball you from legitamate pain management BUT if you are at the end of your rope and have went to all of the pain management facilities in your area and no one will treat you, this is an option that you could consider. Suboxone is VERY expensive...methadone is VERY cheap. So an option to consider there.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing and please come back. We are here for support! I understand how you feel and know that you need to accomplish everyday responsibilities that are non negotiable.
Hang in there!!

I understand where you are coming from, I need a hip replacement but the ortho doc says that I'm too young, I need foot surgery but the ped doc says he don't want to do surgery because I have congestive heart failure. I feel like I'm in a lose - lose situation and that is what your situation sound like to me. I went to a pain management doc and he prescribed me vikaden (spelling? lol) 10/500 1 every four hours. Changed PM docs to another doc who actually listened to my problems and examined me. I was prescribed Butrans Patch, he started me at 10mcg since I was already on short acting pain meds but said we could go up to 20mcg and you wear this patch for 7 days and after day 1 I felt relief I am now on day 6 and I am really looking forward to walking without a walker and not having to ride in a wheel chair when I shop. I hope this was of some help :/ feel free to chat with me if you need to, that is why we are here...for support :)

Have you talked to your other dr's about treating your pain. My urologist prescribes my pain meds for Interstitial Cystitis, but she knows I take it for other pain as well. They might have a better idea of what might work for your specific conditions. You would have to make sure you're only getting pain meds from one dr, or make absolutely sure that they know what other pain meds you are on. My urologist prescribes my pain killer, but my regular dr has no problem giving me a NSAID.
I understand pain and it sounds like you are in more pain than I am but there's one thing you have to remember. The pain will always get worse at one point or another (like after surgery). If you're on the strongest pain meds, what are you gonna take when it gets worse. I am at a point where I need to go to the next step but I'm afraid of where to go when it gets worse.
One thing I do is I switch back and forth between two pain meds each month and it helps bring my tolerance back down a bit and they work again.
For back and knee pain an anti-inflammatory like tramadol(can't remember brand name) works really well on top of pain killers. I've also discovered Lidoderm patches and they have helped tremendously with back and knee pain.
Have you considered applying fer SS disability? If you have a psychiatric disorder (I think clinical depression counts) and physical problems you have a better chance of qualifying. You may also be able to get your special needs children on disability.
