Is it normal to feel some pain / tenderness along old surgical incisions?

I am 19 and have a VP shunt, last one revised in 2009. I have recently (past 7 months) been having headaches, stomach pain, and pain along my shunt tubing but no redness, swelling, or sickness. I have had multiple X rays and cat scans, but my neurosurgeon seems confident that nothing is wrong. Recently the site of my stomach incision has been tender and a bit sore, not red or swollen. Is it normal for scar tissue to feel sore / tender at times? I do have the flu at the moment, but I usually have no other symptoms other than just a sore incision site and soreness along neck tubing. I have the shunt for hydrocephalus and it was placed originally at birth.

I just recently had my VP shunt replaced, and it takes 6+ months for my scalp to feel normal.  Pain along your shunt track is not good .... does your neurosurgeon know this? your primary doctor? were you diagnosed with the flu?  fever + shunt track pain is always something to have checked out.  x-rays and ct scans are a crock for shunts .... I've gotten the all clear more than once via xray(shunt series xrays are only good for BROKEN/kinked tubing -- never clogs or infection)/ct  when I knew something was wrong.  Lumbar punctures and MRIs ... and unfortunately, surgery to check on valves is sometimes necessary.  These valves, while improving ... are still archaic in the medical device world.  What they CAN'T do is infuriating sometimes.

I also am shunted for hydrocephalus, but it was a complication of sterile meningitis after another brain surgery.   I am sort of lucky to have big red flag symptoms when my shunt isn't working ... are you having any neurological symptoms? nausea? I hope you get to the bottom of your pain!
