Mine lasted 3 months of ALOT of pain.  I lived on Vics and Physical Therapy.  The therapy helped me and the pain is mostly gone now but the back of my entire left leg and the bottom of my foot are numb.  I can live with that though!  With two knees waiting replacement, torn rotator cuff in right shoulder, left hip and lower back arthritis I am actually enjoying a spell off of the pain meds.  I am sure it won't last long but okay for now!

Is the pain getting increasingly worse??
I ask only because i was in the exact situation you are in. I had sciatic pain for a long period of time and i tried everything from accupuncturists to massage to chiro.. long story short, I ended up in the hospital for 6 weeks with AVN. Avascular Necrosis of the Right Hip socket.. I totally ate away at it over those months where i was getting "treated".. i had even been to the hospital many times, only to have them send me out with a bottle full of Perkiset's..

Go to the hospital if you are concerned about your pain not getting any better..

Better Safe than sorry..  I am now on Disability with a fully replaced hip and a leg length discrepency of about 2 inches.. So go get it checked out just to be sure!

Hi Rick,

I have sciatic pain and I am extremely sorry that you have it also. It is horrid pain. I can't answer your question, "how long will it last?" I do not know the cause of your sciatica.
I have severe SI Joint Dysfunction that causes my sciatica. There is no cure for it so mine will last a lifetime.

I hope yours will be short term. Sciatica is not a disease condition, it is a symptom. So if we knew what caused it we may be able to "guess" at how long it will last. Again I am sorry you are experiencing such pain. We are here for you to support you in anyway we can.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Take Care, Tuck
