Just moved to FL - Need HELP getting my meds

I very recently moved to Gainesville, FL from CA, where I had an excellent pain management doctor. Prior to moving, I found a Dr. here in FL whom I believed would continue my pain meds. My prior doc did send a re ferral and very min. documentation. Found out the hard way that this area has Suboxone pushing doctors and are much more concerned about losing their license. I have an extremely high opioid tolerance and have been on almost every kind of pain meds in the past. I finally found the perfect combo to manage my severe, chronic pain with breakthrough episodes:  100 mcg Fentanyl patches every 48 hrs. with 400 mcg Fentora (sub-buccal med, very fast acting). Needless to say, I've been out of my pain meds for almost 3 weeks; spent a week in the hospital where they started me on Suboxone, which by the way, did absolutely NOTHING for my pain (but it is a good med for those with opioid addiction & drug seeking behaviors, which I am either). I have a  box of all my medical records but have yet to find it with all the unpacking left to do from my move (too much pain to continue this task). ARE THERE ANY PMPs OR PAIN CLINICS IN FL THAT HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO CONTINUE MY NORMAL COURSE OF PAIN MEDS?? From reading other posts, sounds as if you are now allowed to provide me with specific info. but I am really desperate for some pain relief so I can cont. to live a functional life - w/o the right pain control, I can't even get out of bed. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks, Lisa

My doctor retired and the new doctor told me he won't give me what I was getting . I was saying what about pain , so he told me suffer because he wasn't interested in loosing his license . I have so much metal in my leg and shoulder I can not pass threw any metal detectors with them believing I have a weapons of mass destruction

Do you live anywhere near a university
medical center?  I do not live in Fla,
but know there has been a big crackdown
on pain med prescribing due to serious
problems with "pill mills".  I was thinking
if you can call a medical school clinic,
like one with a pain management team,
you might find a doctor.  Mind if I ask what
kind of pain you have?  Hope this may help -
I think there is a medical school near Gainesville.
