Long term use of flexeril-opposite effects?

I've been on 10mg.flexerill since 2014, due to car accident, and being diagnosed with" cronic whiplash syndrome". Because the neck & back pain & spasms. I was curious if any one out there was having opposite effects, as in "severe muscle constrictions"? As in waking out of a dead sleep, having to get out of bed, strech & massage out "charlie horse" or in this case, charlie calves,& forearms ? Very painful & scarey.

I take this medication myself and have never had these symptoms. You might want to have your potassium checked. If it's low it can cause charlie horse symptoms. If this is the problem your Dr may recommend you eat foods that are high in potassium, like bananas, potatoes and orange juice. You might want to give this a try on your own for a few days to see if it helps. If it doesn't then you can see your Dr to be tested and if it's not low he/she may recommend a different muscle relaxer.

sounds like you might have some nerve damage to me. I have numerous herniated/ruptured discs and I get those often. Ive learned its my back = (
