Looking for a doc in S.E.Ga.

I'm located in S.E. Ga and just got a MRI showing a tumor & a herniated disc pressing on my cord and can't get NO help from my current (soon not to be) doctor. Current doc has referred me to a sports medicine clinic in Brunswick which is wanting to charge me a arm & a leg just to see me, which I can't afford & I don't have insurance no medicare or anything. I don't wont to be operated on nor can I stand needles! I'm just needing a good doc who isn't afraid to help me exist with my pain!

It's terrible, can't sleep at night. I hurt ALL the time! It feels like I've got a knot tied in my spine at all times, plus the best way to describe my pain is like having a severe muscle cramp which comes and goes not to mention a lot of other issues. A friend has given me some of their meds. (Vicadine & methadone) and it has been helping me get through my days but they need their meds and I'm afraid if I was to tell a doc that he would think I'm just a drug head or something.

But, I can't keep going on like this!
Please, if anyone knows a GOOD doc any where around S.E. Ga. Please I'm willing to try as I have enough medicine to last me through this week! I am NOT a druggie, I only take 1/2 a tablet of each to get me through a work day and nothing on my days off! I just don't know how long I can keep working like this and were talking about the lively hood of my family....not just me! :(

I hate doctors, I just started going to this doctor, so I have no medical history & he only gives me ultram which is a complete waste of my time & money!
I really just need 1 good doc that will help! If y'all may know 1 in the S.E.Ga. area please email me the info at: rxhelpneeded123 @ gmail . com

Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya for any help or advise! :(

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. While I can’t suggest a doctor in your area, I would like to say something regarding your situation. Normally if the pain is due to a tumor pressing on nerves, it cannot be treated medically. You will need surgery for this. Your doctor can give you long acting pain medications, or pain relief patches, but with time these will stop working.
Herniated discs can be managed conservatively. The treatment is a combination of pain killers, muscle relaxants, physiotherapy, manual therapy, hydrotherapy, and exercise. Most people respond to this. You could wear corset while you are up and about. This will keep the spine straight and lessen the pain.
Do discuss this with your current doctor. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

Thank you for the information Doc, when I get in to see a doctor I'll let them know.
I don't know if a corset would be a option as I'm a mechanic and I'm constantly bending, getting under vehicles and such and a corset probably would hinder my movement.
Plus, this may sound crazy but, as long as I'm moving during the day the pain is not as bad. It's when I'm not moving like bending over a car or standing still in the same position that the pain gets unbearable.

When I lay down at night & get up first thing in the morning is the absolute worst! At night I constantly have to move/turn or the pain is unbearable. In the mornings, my feet are so tender that I can't walk on them for about 30 mins. or so until I work the soreness out of them.
Also, in the morning my back (the best way I can describe it is) it feels as if you have worked out the day before lifting heavy weights, my back is just so sore it too takes about an hour to where I can move normal.

I have dealt with this for years now, but, it is getting only worse and I just don't know how long I can keep going like this. I've never been operated on and I do NOT want to be! Medicine is the only thing that helps me, if I can get help maybe I can change my profession or something to where I can start taking it easy. I don't know, this is all going to be a big turn around in my life as well as my families life. We'll just have to see where it goes from here.

Thanks again, I appreciate the information.
