You could have a breach or even a hemorrhoid inside your colon that will produce bright red blood. A Gastroenterologist can help determine; however, you may want to do some self-care steps to help yourself right away. For instance, you can soften your stool in such a way that it slips thru w\out difficulty by doing the following: take a 'Stool Softener" (nightly) purchased at any Drug Store, take Slippery Elm herb(w\ your largest meal) purchased at a Health Food Store, and begin drinking a gentle fiber(the clear powder not the gritty kind-start slowly half dosage). Do all this daily and allow your colon to heal by keeping your stool soft as possible. Still see a 'Doc' so you can talk about this stuff. Colon cancer produces a black-tarry blood, other breaches produce bright red bursts. Painful, but fixable on your own. By the way, I have had both - colon cancer and internal hemorrhoids.  There are also Digestion Aids that you can get at Health Food Stores that help your body assimilate your food - it's a journey in self-care to figure out, but worth the effort.
