Menstrual period cramps relief

Does anyone know any ways to relieve pain during your period? I usually don't get cramps but today my period is starting and I'm having back pain. I've had the pain a couple days but I spaced it on my period i forgot it might be that causing it. Like I said, it's unusual for me. I have a heating pad on my back and I'm laying down and i took 2 prescription strength ibuprofen (my mom was taking them and then stopped when she had hip replacement surgery). Any other advice? It just snowed so I had to shovel today...I'm in high school (17), but of course I had to shovel and I'm a cashier and I have work tonight. So I'd like to find some relief in the next couple of hours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just regular advil should work or a if you can go to your doctor and get naproxen which is similar to aleve. Keep an eye on this pain if it continues with your next periods. Heating pads work the best and closing your eyes and breathing in and out slowly

Well, some say Pampren, I don't know the ingredients but if it has aspirin I wouldn't take it due to your age and Reyes syndrome. But Ibupropin should help. There are other similar OTC meds for cramps like Midol.

A warm bath might help. But mainly just rest after having shoveled today.
