Removing pain medications over 30mg from market

PROP, Physicians for Responsible Opiate Prescribing, are now asking the FDA to Immediately remove oral pain medication over 30mg from the market.  The FDA is requesting feed back from people.  I am sharing with as many people as I can think of.  The goal is to remove all pain killers/opiates from the market. In Virginia they have mandated that only patients dying of cancer or in hospice may receive pain management. Please comment on below link before February 18th. This will become law through regulationsdotgov. My best to you all, Dee

Remar, thank you so much, I'm sorry I didn't see this til now. Yes, people comment or they can say this is a bad idea etc. I am happy to see that several have commented since yesterday. It is a real nightmare. I met a woman who had a fusion with a cage, the cage has slowly becoem attached to her spine, into instead of around her spine. She is an agony every day, has been cut off 90% of her meds. No one seems to understand. Veterans who fought for us have been cut off and the VA has the nerve to be proud of the torture they have caused. Others involved, are so proud of themselves, it is disgusting to me how people don't understand that pain patients didn't create this nightmare the pharmaceuticals like McKesson did, sending millions and millions of pills to drug traffickers.for years. They were fined in 2013, again last year. They continue.  I watched the FBI Whistleblower then the ex Head of DEA. He said Congress knew people were dying, did nothing, just like now, they know now and are doing nothing. It's all about the money. Sorry, just so sad for everyone concerned.

Remar, I am so sorry for your loss. Every day I hear about someone who has committed suicide because they couldn't stand the pain anymore. The second link that I posted works, I just tried it. I am fast losing faith myself. This will become law if they don't get enough comments. In 2012/13 PROP tried to get pain meds banned for all but hospice and cancer patients. 2,500 people were able to stop it. Since then this group has become very powerful and their leader says no one needs pain meds; .Andrew Kolodny says that pain pills are just like heroin. It makes me very sad to think of people in intractable pain being denied relief from their pain. Now it seems the GAO is going to go after Medicare patients.

Despite proof that prescription deaths have gone down 72% and illicit fentanyl deaths have gone up 110% no one seems to be paying attention to people in chronic pain at all.
Right now only 648 comments here is the link just in case.

Thank you so much Dee. It was such a tragic and senseless lose of a young woman. I feel terrible for her husband and son. This proves that some people are in so much pain that they just can't take it any more. Many of these Drs are going by guidelines and not treating patients as individuals who all have different needs. I was so upset, hurt and mad when I heard what happened because it could have been prevented. Thank you so much for what you're doing. We need people like you to fight for us. My sister in on Medicare. Not by choice. She worked hard until she couldn't work any more. We're both going to sign this petition, and I'll get the rest of my family to sign it too. What are they trying to do when there's proof right in front of their eyes that prescription deaths have done nothing but go down? If they do away with opiods there will be CPP's who will have no choice but to turn to street drug and that's only going to make things worse. I keep asking, are none of these people in the government, the FDA, CDC, chronic pain patients, or have a family member that is? What are they going to do if they're in an accident or get a disease that will cause them pain for life? Just tough it out like they expect us to do?

I agree, it's getting really bad. Chng.or is good. I too have signed anything that might help us. I've joined some groups that have spoken to Congress. There are FB pages, Twitter. I'm trying to help anyway I'm able. Thank you both for commenting. I'm very worried for our future.

Hi Dee. It's been awhile. I tried and tried to get in to this web site with no luck. Have you heard anything about this law? Was it actually a law or was it a recommendation? I'm trying to keep up with what's going on and I've read that a lot of what's going on are not laws at all. It's recommendations for the Drs. Of course the Drs are scared that something could happen to them so it's getting harder and harder for people to even get pain management. It still blows me away that you can not get opiods in VA unless you have cancer. I have to wonder what CPP's are doing for their pain. I just lost a beautiful 37 year old cousin who lived in MO. She was in a terrible car accident several years ago and it really messed her up. She was being under medicated and just couldn't take the pain any more so she hung herself. It just broke my heart when I heard about this. She was so young, had a family, was beautiful, and just wanted to live a somewhat normal life. I wonder if her Dr even cares about what happened? Has he even one time thought, if I had listened to her and believed her as far as her pain levels, she would be here today. The government, FDA and CDC has to hear about stories like hers. How could they not care? What if it were them or a member of their family? I'm sorry for the long post. Whenever I come to this site and read the stories I get so upset. I'm going through it myself with a new Dr that was brought in to my clinic. On the very first visit within 2 minutes he started talking about tapering me off of my meds. I asked if he had even looked at my records, scans and MRI's. He had not. He came from OH though and PM is much more strict there. He's in MO now so he needs to change his way of thinking. Anyway, if you have any news I would really appreciate hearing about it. I hope you're doing well.

I don't know why they don't leave us real chronic pain sufferers alone.
Don't any of these people who are making these suggestions, rules, and laws suffer from chronic pain?
We're loosing people every single day because they're being under medicated, or they've been released from pain clinics. They just can't have any kind of life without the help of pain medication.
There's a site where I sign every petition I can that might help us chronic pain sufferers. It's change.org. I hope I'm allowed to put that on here.
I'll check out this site.
FNTN, you're so right, it's getting hard to keep up with all of these new regulations. And they do need to leave us alone. Many of us were doing just fine with our family Drs. Now we're being forced in to pain clinics, forced to take urine tests, many times our medications are cut back.
We have to stand together and fight for what we need.

Thankyou Dee!

Keeping up with all of our various restrictions is difficult these days. We are being assaulted from every side. But we still need proper pain management which isn't even being discussed.

Just sit around, but all the otherside offers is for us to hope that pain leaves us alone .... no other real solutions. sad.
