Sore calf

For the past few weeks, I have had soreness on the outside of my left calf. I feel it mainly in the morning and night if I stretch my leg. It doesn't hurt extremely bad and not constantly but its stayed sore when I stretch or move it a certain way for a while now. I've massaged it and put warm cloths on it but its been hanging around. I am not an athlete or runner, though I do the walk outside and on the treadmill at the gym occasionally. I am a little overweight for my height at 175 lbs if that helps contribute. Anyone have any ideas?

Ok. My aunt is a physician so I will mention it to her. It didn't feel serious, just more aggravating but you are right, it is better to be safe than sorry!

I had a sore calf about six months ago (right leg), went to the doctor and it turned out to be a blood clot, please go get it checked out, hopefully it's nothing more than a pulled muscle, but better safe than sorry:)
