Unexplained pain

This is the third time that this has happened, and I am probably posting on the wrong tread, but I just want some relief. I have this very sharp pain, that starts underneath my ribs on the right side, and reaches around into my the right side of my back, or beneath the back part of my rib cage. It originally started thanksgiving night, then once last week, and then last night. The pain is so sever, that I am nearly unable to move. I have no idea what it is, but I cannot handle it anymore! Any suggestions on what may help it, or what it is??

Hi Shannon,

You are more than Welcome in the Pain Management Community. I have consulted with the moderators so they can determine where your question will receive the best response.

I am so very sorry to hear about your horrid pain. We can relate and my heart goes out to you.

My concern for you is this appears to be acute rather than chronic pain - not that both can't be just as extreme and interferes with our life and daily functioning. However pain is the manner in which our body talks to us.'s telling you that something is wrong.  It We should never ignore it.

I urge you to to seek medical attention today. Go to your local Urgent Care if you are unable to consult your PCP. You may want to contact your PCP first and ask for direction. Acute and severe pain needs immediate attention.

Good Luck my dear. Please return to our Pain Management Community and let us know how you are doing.

Take Care,
~Tuck
