Why itching after being on narcotics for years with no itch?

Hi, About two months ago I started getting unbearable itching on mostly my upper body.  I've had no increase in the meds I take (Oxycodone, MS Contin, Neurontin, Lexapro, Benzodiazepines).  I've seen my MD, pain doctor and finally a dermatologist. I'm now on Hydroxyzine but can only take right before bed due to extreme sleepiness. I am awaiting all blood test results but so far they look good. Sarna lotion helps but have to keep applying every half hour.  I have a feeling it's the narcotics.  I am in terrible pain and don't know what to do...and why in the world would this happen after no dose change and being on them for years with no itch? Thanks!

Maybe talk to the pharmacist and ask if they changed brands?  I take a hand full of meds a day myself, and I notice when, on occasion they switch brands on me.  I will get nauseous with one. Good luck.
