hi ya, im having problems with my right knee after i was told i had tear in cartilidge i had key hole surgry to repair this and have had phsyio since, after my op i had another fall and have been in alot pain ever snice the doctor iv seen as told me there is nothing wrong with my knee but i can not bend my knee at all and 95% of the time my knee is really swallen and brused. im in a hinged splint at the mo. i have been off work with this problem for over 8 months and still can not weight bare and not sure what to do from here. hope you can help many thanks matt

Is the skin shiny, or discolored? Surgery can sometimes percipitate Complex Regional Pain Syndrome / Reflex Dystrophy Syndrome (CRPS / RSDS).

Look it up on Google, check several sites, see if the discriptions fit.

Not all doctors know about RSDS.

Why not get a second opinion?  Sometimes docs look at a surgical failure as a personal thing.  "No way could my fine work could have failed!"  It never hurts to consult another person.

You may have developed scar tissue in the joint, and it doesn't usually show up on pictures unless it pulls something severely out of position.
