I noticed after myfusion that "half" of both my feet, and both calves, were numb! The doctor said not to worry-- numbness = good // pain = bad! I agree with him. I'd rather a little numbness than pain anyday! I would check with your doctor to see what he/she thinks, your issues most likely differ from my personal ones. Good luck.
Hello Karen,
Welcome to MedHelps Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post. I am however very sorry to hear about your new symptoms and prior numerous spinal surgeries.
Usually the symptoms you describe are related to nerve irritation, inflammation or damage. Some of it may also be related to circulation. A Doppler may reveal how well the blood supply is reaching your extremities. How long has it been since you have had an MRI? It may be beneficial to undergo one before the pump implant. The numbness in your buttocks does not sound like a circulatory issue.
I assume you are being closely monitored and followed my a neurologist. Be sure to advise him/her of your new symptoms. He may have a solution or treatment for you. Whatever you do do not ignore these issues. Make sure the neurologist is aware of them.
Others will post their their opinions and suggestions. I wish you well and hope that you will keep in touch. I will watch for your updates with interest.
Take Care,
Tuck
