Hi Dimples! I know exactly how you feel. I'm having a difficult time getting my doctors to listen to me. I've had this shoulder pain for the past 5 years now and it's only getting worse. Please let me know what happens with you and if there is any diagnosis. Hope things work out for both of us.
My pain does exactly what yours does, it gets much worse once I settle down for the night.
The pain has been there some for the last three years or more. It has gotten worse as time goes by. Whn it started, it was not nearly as bad. I do have some other signs of arthritis, some of my fingers are getting knots on the knuckles. I had therapy a year ago but it didn't help much. The pain is kinda like a toothache during the day but when I lay down, it gets so bad I can hardly stand it. I can go to a recliner and it subsides enough that I can sleep. I work at a local fast food restaurant. I clean & wipe tables 3 days a week. Also, if I run the sweeper, it makes it really bad.
Thank you all for writing me, I plan to call the Dr. again today.

Hi Dimples,
I think you have had some good suggestions. I would not be comfortable with a diagnosis that was not confirmed with collateral diagnosing scans.
Shoulder pain can be caused by a variety of conditions and to suggest that you have RA without concrete evidence would leave me doubting the diagnosis. As earlier suggested it could be a rotator cuff, disc problems or other similar conditions. I would return to your PCP and inform him/her of your continued discomfort. If he is unwilling to do further testing I would seek out another PCP that would respond to my requests.
Best of luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates. Take care, Tuck
I agree with Jaybay, I would definately get a MRI. My problem started out with shoulder pain. I even had rotator cuff surgery, but when I got no pain releif after the surgery they did a MRI of my neck and found that I had two ruptured disks. Good luck.
