Hello Hamhawk,

Yes Mollyrae offered a good suggestion on Lidocaine Patches. They do not work very well on me but others have had pain relief with them. I am unsure about nerve creams.

There is a Capsaicin cream. It is considered alternative medicine. My friend uses it on a arthritic knees and claims it really works at least for a short periods. Capsaicin (pronounced cap-SAY-sin) is the active ingredient in chili peppers. It's what gives chili peppers their kick. When it is applied to the skin, capsaicin cream has been found to deplete substance P—a neurochemical that transmits pain—which desensitizes a person to pain. Capsaicin cream produces a temporary reduction in pain, so it must be used regularly to provide prolonged pain relief.

Tomorrow I see my physician who has a new patch for me to try. It is an anti- inflammatory patch that you apply to the area of pain. I am sorry but I do not know the name of it. I will let you know tomorrow when I obtain it. I will also let you know how well it works.

There is an over the counter heat patch that lasts for 8 hours. It does keep the area warm and adds some comfort. I wear it, especially on cool days or nights when I am having a lot of pain in my SI Joint.

Others should post and offer their suggestions and information. Feel free to send me a PM on my profile page if you would like to contact me. I hope other will have more information than I have for you. Take care let us know if you have any success with rubs or creams. Tuck

Hi Hamhawk. I am not tuck....She will be here soon. I thought I'd add something here if you don't mind.

Have you tried Lidocane patches? They have worked for me in the past.

Take care and have a nice night.

Mollyrae
