Pancreas cyst

Quest I have been diagnosed with a small pancreas cyst. It’s about 2cm. They would like to do a mri to see what type of cyst it is, apparently there’s a lot of different types. I have been feeling very nauseous and tired lately. Also feel I lost some weight. Can this mean it’s a cancerous cyst? Can these symptoms make you feel sick. Also my lipase levels are elivated, not sure if the pain and nausea is from the inflamed pancreas or the cyst. Any advice appreciated

MRI/MRCP abdomen with and  without contrast is a reasonable test to further characterize pancreatic cysts/cystic lesions. Pancreatic cystic lesions can represent pseudocysts (if history of pancreatitis or trauma), sidebranch IPMN (benign), serous cystic neoplasm (benign), or mucinous cystic neoplasms (not benign). It is helpful to include MRCP sequences for better evaluation of biliary and pancreatic ducts.

Elevated lipase levels are suggestive of pancreatitis, but like any lab value should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms. Your doctor will be able to help piece this all together.
