Pain in the sides of abdomen

A cousin of mine is 11 years old. In April this year, he started feeling pain in abdomen on exact left side of the naval. 6 months before this onset of the pain, he had pain as a result of which he was diagnosed with kidney stone. But that stone was removed through urination. He felt alright for 6 months till the pain returned once again. This time, all tests gave negative reports i.e. no stone or the related problems. The pain was so severe that he had to be inoculated with diclofenic sodium very often. NO relief in pain resulted in continuous inoculation and in total, 200 injections must have been given. After this, his urination was reduced to mere 10ml/24 hours. The injections were stopped because they had only temporary effects and were apparently causing deposition of sodium (extrapolated from extremely reduced amount of urination. Even if he was given 15-20 glasses of water in a day, there was no increase in the amount of urination. In ultrasound, bladder can be seen as containing some amount of urea but he is completely unable to make water. Gradually, now the amount of urination has come to zero ml from 10ml. Slight swelling is also visible in his hands and ankles now. If given a lot of water now, he either vomits or the water is discharged through loose bowel movement. His parent and the whole family are worried because doctors are unable to come to any final conclusion. One doctor is of the view that the problem is purely psychological in nature and that the patient just FEELS pain. He tried some treatment on these lines but to no avail.
