Saying hi - newly diagnosed

I  was diagnosed this week with early Parkinson's by a neurologist following MRI's with and without contrast, along with evoked potentials testing. I have per my report, "atrophy of the pars compacta of the substantia nigra". My neurologist was wonderful (I have tons of experience with neurologists and neurosurgeons due to other issues with family members) and took time to explain and discuss things. I'm 51 and my symptoms at this time are basically a pill rolling type movement in my left hand. It is manageable at this time, so I'm not going to initially take meds. He also recommended a second opinion with a neuro who he states is top in the field in this area, that it's just generally a good idea to get a second opinion. I have a very positive outlook and strong beliefs about my ability to impact my own health.
So, hi all, any feedback, suggestions, etc... are welcome. I'll be reading through the info here next.

Always a bummer to get a negative diagnosis.
You seem to be on top of things.
My mom was slow to progress, she got diagnosed about 2012 or so. Keep active, and do not let it get you down is the best advice I can give you right now, that and follow the advice of your doctor.
