What to expect with Parkinsons Disease

My husband is 78 y.o. and is having mouth twitching,  tremors on the left side of his body, and heaviness in his legs.  His primary thinks it is Parkinson's Disease and we go to see a neurologist the first week of August.  Idk what to expect as I've never been around someone with this disease.  Since he's being diagnosed later in life will his symptoms increase more quickly? Will I be able to take care of him alone? I fear for his mental health and life expectancy, so any information would be appreciated.  Thank you!
