Chronic shoulder pain

For the past 6 months I have had pain in my right shoulder, right where it joints it seems. I have laid off on any strenuous activities but it is still there, some days worse than others. I have occasional pain when lifting if I have to lift away from my body. Lifting straight up does not hurt. However, to apply downward pressure can be excruciating. I grimace using the hole punch at work and unfortunately being short means I am working in file cabinets that are close to my height. Any suggestions to speed recovery? I have a history of bone issues such as scoliosis, spurs, mild stenosis and joint pain so I wouldn't be surprised if this was the arthritis or something related. I can't recall any kind of injury I may have sustained. Any ideas? Thank you.

Thank you for the response. I wasn't aware of an orthopedic forum, lol. My apologies for the incorrect post. No, I have not been able to get it checked out and it still hurts. I have no insurance and am currently struggling to afford a much needed root canal.

Hi there,
Sorry for the delayed response.  This is not my area of expertise and needs to be moved to an orthopedic forum.  Is it any better?  Did you ever have it examined?
Thanks,
John
