I'm afraid of having a heart attack

I am a 15 year old diabetic. (Type 1 Diabetes) My blood sugar tends to run on the high side all the time because of my fear of low blood sugar. Numbers tend to run between 250-350 but have slowly been getting better.
Anyway I've been having chest pain for the last couple days. It hurts especially when I'm lying down. It hurts when I breathe deeply and after exercise. I also do get sweaty and light headed occasionally, but I think that is more related to diabetes.
Despite my concerns every one tells me there is no way I'm having a heartattac at my age, but the higher blood sugar has me concerned. I do have severe anxiety, which I'm on the max dose of an anxiety med for. However chest pain hasn't really been related to my anxiety in the past.
The school nurse also listened to my heart and said it sounded normal.  Beats and speed wise. Could somebody help me out? I'm having trouble sleeping because of this and I'm not sure what to do.
It has been occuring for about 2 or 3 days now and I'm not sure what else it could be, since I'm not sure what I would've done to pull a muscle in my chest.

The first thing you need to do Cat is to calm yourself down! I can tell you with probably 99.9% accuracy that you are NOT having a heart attack. At 15 years of age, you haven't lived long enough to have clogged arteries; that takes a minimum of at least 20 years and that 20 years would have to be spent living and eating junk food. About the only time you would have a heart attack at your age is if your heart walls were either too thin (congestive heart failure) or too thick (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) where the heart walls no longer receive a blood flow. You would be very symptomatic, there wouldn't be any question that there was a problem. What you are describing sounds like chest muscle issue, not heart. Have your mom take you to your pediatrician if she feels the need to, but being diabetic, I'm guessing you are seeing a doctor regularly anyway. if you had the issues I described here, you would have a heart murmur or gallop, the nurse and doctors aren't hearing that at this point. Try not to worry yourself. Take care.

You need to work with your endocrinologist to get your blood sugar more under control.
