Do you put your child to sleep in a car seat? It could be deadly

Parents of infants can become desperate for their babies to sleep.  While babies and children should always be in a proper car seat when traveling by automobile, some also use this as a way to help their child sleep at home. And it is not just car seats but includes strollers, swings and infant seats besides car seats.    9 out of 10 car seat deaths occurred while the seat was being used as a makeshift crib outside the car.  That means only 10 percent of car seat deaths happened when they were being used in a moving car. Often these deaths relate to improper use of the sitting device but they are also unsure why SIDS is so prevalent in car seats used outside of the vehicle.  Prevention is key.  Once the car ride is over, baby should sleep in a crib or bassinet.
