2 year old thrown up almost every day of his life. Any possible underlying causes?

Both my children spit up a lot. I breast fed them and cut out dairy and soy from my diet, who knows if that helped them or just made my life more complicated. My daughter stopped throwing up at 13 months old. My son is now 25 months old and he throws up just about every evening! It’s violent and everything in his stomach comes out. Sometimes it’s earlier in the evening when he’s running around kaughjng and having firm. And sometimes it’s when he’s really tired, laying in bed, just about to fall asleep and he does this swallowing thing where you can tell he’s not feeling so good. Almost like a drunk person all of a sudden feeling their stomach turn and then the next thing you know you just keep throwing up. He was on an antacid for a while but then he saw a specialist and she said she didn’t think it was reflux, just something to grow out of. So he went off that medication. He isn’t in distress before or after the episode, and it only happens in the evening, he doesn’t typically eat a large dinner. There doesn’t seem to be any food triggers. I’m just at a loss.

Hm, that is odd.  My son can throw up when he eats too much but he generally has nausea before vomiting.  Your general pediatrician is not concerned about this?  Did he have less when on the antacid? If that didn't help, then you can rule out reflux.  Does he have allergies?  Have they explored that avenue?

I didn’t notice any improvement on the antacid. But we did see a specialist and he suggested EoE. We have a follow up with him in a few weeks. But in the meantime he was out on an antibiotics for a runny nose and cough and he didn’t throw up while on the antibiotic! So weird. Something I definitely willl bring up to the specialist.
The general peditrician is not concerned because his height and weight are consistent and he isn’t falling off the curve
