9 year old bottom of foot has turned Brown?

My son is 9yrs. old and I have noticed a dark brown discoloration on the bottom of his left foot (from the heel of the foot to about the arch) it has
been there for about 4 days, The brown discoloration is flat, it is not painfulPainful, it does not itch, and the skin is intact. At first I thought it was dirt and when I attempted to clean the sole of his foot it
did not come off.The brown discolorationn is still there. What can this be?

If it is discoloration from pressure /bruising they dont always hurt a lot, and will fade in a day or two ...let us know I love a mystery ...

Have just taken a look at your pic...its on his heel as you said ..you know it does look like a bruise..some are brown is there any tenderness when the area is pressed...what was he doing at camp what games and pastimes ? Hummmm jump on a giant air pillow ...could that be the connection ...

Yes I noticed it when we got home Monday, this was the first time he wore the boots and they are brown that was my first thought but when I looked at his white socks and saw they were a little black from when he took his shoes off to jump on the giant air pillow at the corn maze no sign of brown just black? and no he was never bare foot. I am really concerned at what this could be! My Husband thinks I am over reacting.

humm its  coincidence..  did he get the mark around that time he was wearing , them ,how often does he wear them ? New shoes/boots can be the cause of foot pain, but he says the foot is not painful.The mark came on at the weekend you were camping, so was he barefoot at all may have trodden on something .?

I just bought him new hikeing Boots for our camping weekend he had them on the whole time but his socks were not discolored at all?
