Chicken pox only in hands?

Hello,

My 8 month-old baby has been diagnosed with chicken pox on Saturday, the doctor told me the blisters in his hands (he only has around 10 in the palm of which only 3 are easily visible) would extend to all his body by Sunday but this hasn't happened and no new blisters have appeared.

All started with a common cold and after 10 days he appeared to be healed, but then he got a fever (101.3) and his body was covered by very mild little red spots (which are now gone and only appear if he is in contact with warm water). One blister appeared on of his fingers and 3 days later some more blisters appeared on the palm of his hands and this is when we went to the doctor. She was not a pediatrician.

She diagnosed chicken pox but, as I mentioned, no new blisters have appeared in 4 days and the ones he had are not growing or making crusts. The first blister did bursts and made a crust because my son was biting on his finger. My son doesn't seem to care about the blisters, they don't seem to be itchy or painful. He has no blisters anywhere else on his body nor in his mouth. No fever, no discomfort, he eats and sleeps well.

My question is: is it possible that chicken pox comes only in the hands? is it possible that this thing will extend all over his body in the following days?

I am worried because we have a planned trip this Thursday and the doctor told me that if he has chicken pox all over his body he won't be let in the plane, but what should I do if he doesn't present any more blisters? Should I travel? Would I be irresponsible if I board an airplane with a baby with a few blisters in his hands?

I attached a photo of his blisters.

Thank you in advance.

My daughter actually had the exact same thing only appears on her hands and feet. Her doctor said it was hands and feet and mouth disease or something like that. But said it's viral and will cause fevers so told me to make sure I give her Tylenol.  But that is what it looks like little red bumps kind of like a rash but only on her hands and feet. He said every child gets that at least once in there life.
