Glasses not needed?

My child is 6, took him for a regular check up and was told he was +1.00 in both eyes. He had been wearing his glasses for a few months now and consistently complains that they make his vision worse. We often catch him looking over them. Is it possible they aren't needed, or only for reading maybe? He doesn't mind to actually wear them, I don't think he's trying to get out of it. His vision was fine on the first test, it was the dilated exam that got him in glasses.

See a diagnostic optician or an opthamologist.  If he has been seen by one go for a second opinion.
