How often should 1 month old go poopy?

When my 1 month old has bowel movements he does small little ones for a few days before he works up a good one. Is this normal? His doctor said to try Karo Syrup 1 tsp, 1-2 times daily, in a 3 oz bottle of formula. My question is, Is there anything else I can do to help him? He hasn't shown any signs of being in pain. Is there any massages or anything like that I can do?

Are there any home remedies to help 1 month old son poop?
He goes days before he has a good bowel movement.
Lately, its been small pebbles but they are not hard. But, he doesn't seem to be in pain.
He has his 2 month check up coming up on the 23rd. I hope this is normal. I don't remember dealing with this with my 1 year old.

When he was born he was on Simalac Advance that the hospital had. He was on a good poop schedule. When we got sent home he was on Breastmilk that I would pump for him and on Gerber Good Start we used bottled water. He was on a good poop scedule then to. Then, we started giving him his formula with faucet water which is well water and thats when this waiting days for him to poop before he made a good poop started that was about a week before he turned 1 month.
As I write this he is making a good stinky one. And, this is after soy formula he has had, his regular formula, and his regular formula mixed with karo syrup. We also started putting him in one of those vibrating baby chairs. And, I have been massaging his tummy and moving his legs in a circulur postions.

Were gonna have to try that. As well as talk to his doc again if he's still doing this.

Someone told us to try soy formula? They think its cause he can't do milk based formula.

My daughter was constipated a lot until the age of about 4. Her GI doctor always recommended MiraLAX, it is over the counter and is not harmful. Will not upset the child's tummy either. You can start with half a capful and if needed go up to a capful. Hope this helps.

He's on formula (Gerber Good Start).

Yes, I'm concerned he could possibly be constipated. He seems to be uncomfortable but doesn't have any signs of major pain.

It seems okay to me, are you concerned he is constipated ,he is going maybe just carry on as the doctor has said see how he is doing I dont know if massage will help his bowels but babies like massages on their backs and tums so he will enjoy it..good luck.
