My 2 year old sons cough

My 2 year old has had a runny nose and a cough at night for about a month. He threw up 2 nights ago from mucus in his throat. He seems fine during the day. He is active and happy and does not seem to be in pain. He only has the runny nose during the day. At night he coughs. He is not running a fever. Being that he is 2 I can't just give him meds. I am truly worried and feel helpless. Can someone please help me?

My son had the same thing, I took him to his pediatrician and sent him antibiotics (twice) , which didn't work, I took him to another doctor and gave him a different antibiotic that finally worked, but my son was coughing like for almost two months, so i think you should take your son to his doctor, and if he started daycare not long ago, that is normal they get sick all the time.
