My significant other chews nicotine gum. I know, it’s not healthy. My question is can nicotine pass through their skin to our baby from their skin/pores? They don’t smoke, just chew the nicotine gum. Thank you.
Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for the question. Nicotine would not pass through skin to the baby, however, does she breast feed? There is some ability to reach baby that way. If she is not smoking, nicotine gum is much preferrable. I assume your baby has baby well check appointments as well with a pediatrician? That is a good tie to also receive reassurance but this should not be of any risk to your now born infant.
