Sleep disorders link with noisy breathing?

My 16 month old son has always had a very noisy breasthing pattern- so noisy people including random strangers have commented on it. I havent noticed anything that brings it out more.

It sounds like a wheeze/vibration. He has been chceked outy by three different doctors in teh practice all claiming hes fine. He is also a terrible sleeper- always has been. Wakes up frequetly screaming but settles back down quickly. I am beginning to wonder if he can breathe at night. Also every time he gets sick it goes traight to his chest- terrible cough, chest rattles, bronchitis a few times.....

What type of doctor should I see for a second opinion.

have you asked your doctor to check his larins,my daughter was the same i just noticed her breathing was different to my other childrens, they kept telling me she was fine but i kept on and eventually she was diagnoised with floppy larins,it isnt life threatening but when she has a cold or cough she sounds even worse and they did tell me that if she ever caught a chest infection she may need to be admitted.

there is nothing given it ususally just goes, they told me by the time my daughter is 7 she will be completely clear, most go by the age of 5,sleep was always an issue for me she never slept for months on end,in the end i had to prop her up higher, and feeding was terrible, whe would eat and violently vomit straight back up,check your childs throat and chest between the ribs see if they sink in alot when she is breathing.let me know

Was there anything that was done for the floppy larins? Is it something they grow out of? Was sleep ever an issue for your child?

Thanks!

My son's doctor just prescribed him Albuterol to get him through a secondary infection after a cold.  Has your doctor ever suggested a nebulizer or anything like that?

I'd see if you can find a pediatric ENT doctor (ear, nose and throat doctor).
