Hi there, welcome. What led to this diagnosis of your son? He is only 1 year old? Was your child separated from you at some point in early infancy? Do you suffer mental health problems (not judging in any way nor am I suggesting anything bad, just trying to understand the situation)? There is a belief that most kids are naturally resilient and this can be turned around.
One thing to look into is sensory integration disorder. My son has this. This can look like this: A child doesn't make eye contact, a child doesn't show as much expression, a child has social skills deficits, a child does not like touch, cuddling. Does any of that match? This is a neurological disorder in which the nervous system sends the wrong messages throughout the child's system. My son also has coordination issues, looked clumsy, tripped a lot, some speech issues, etc.
Tell us symptoms your son has and early circumstances and we'll go from there.
