Prolapse plus bladder and bowel pain.

I have grade 3 rectocele, plus uterine decent and a cysto/urethrocele grade 1 or 2 and some anal prolapse plus grade 3 intuss.  Drs have offered me a rectocele op and say this will create a better support for my Anterior side as well.  Am in the UK so am getting fobbed off a lot and am having a lot of pain in bowel plus my uterus is bulging far over onto my bladder side which is causing a lot of pain passing water plus a lot less sensation as to when my bladder is full.  My GP and I are confused as to what to do and the Urogynes just tell me my bladder side isnt that bad.  I am having to lay down a lot and my appetite has gone.  Anything in my bowel moving around puts more pressure on my bladder.  Can an Antroverted uterus that is prolapsing compromise bladder function and what can be done about it?  Please help.

Sorry to read of your problems.  I would think that the doctors would repair the bladder, uterus and rectal prolapse during the surgery.  Prolapse of the urinary bladder, Cystocele, can cause urinary retention, frequent UTI's, urgency and frequency, and in some cases obstructive voiding resulting in reflux to the kidneys that may damage them.   These issues can be evaluated with testing, Urodynamics / Cystometrics. The uterus being anteverted uterus may put pressure on your bladder it your uterus is enlarged and/or prolapsing.    A non surgical option might be to try a pessary.

Thank you for your reply.  I have a silicone pessary but the uterus is leaning so far over that it is still crushing my bladder even with it in.  The uterus came further down today which scared me, as though it is more positioned to come right down and is lower.  Unfortunately, I keep getting told prolapse doesnt cause the problems I am having even from UK Urogynes so I not sure what to do next.  Very painful today.
