surgery?

Ok since I am considering possibly remarrying down the road..., I am planning to have my tubes tied.  I have a urethral prolapse, the docs tell me is isn't bad but I do get some leakage coughing, laughing etc. and I would likeit fixed at the same time.  Anyone had just the urethra lifted back into place?  I also have Interstitial cystitis so wondering if this will hurt or help this?

Please tell me what to expect and total recovery time>

Shelly

PFD is POP-pelvic floor disorder and pelvic organ prolapse are 2 names for same condition. Please make sure the gyn you are seeing has a strong profile in POP, when the pelvic floor is weak, it impacts much more than the bladder-can be rectum, intestines, uterus-you want to know exactly what is going on. See the message I sent you on the urethra/bladder. The IC complicates things a bit but since you have a strong relationship with your urologist, I'd brain pick both the urologist and the gyn on how many POP procedures they have done and what the success rates were. There are many types of repairs for incontinence, you want to know the type of repair being done is one with a success rate that good.

Hey kiddo, hope all is going well for you-been a while since we've connected! It is seldom you have urethral prolapse w/o bladder issues going on too, I'm going to send you a link with some info to look over to see if possibly you have other prolapse issues going on. If there are other symptoms that fit, I encourage you to see counsel with a urogyn rather than have a procedure done by a urologist of gyn, they are the experts and would be best able to address the IC issues and how they will come into play. Once you have a chance to look over info I'm sending, you can ship more questions here and I'll do my best to address them.
