RIP CONRAD 6-6-10

my bestfriends dog passed away last night on his own in their bed. he was only 2 years old, a blue nose pittbull, beautiful grey color with grey eyes. he was only 2 years old. just a few days ago he had stopped eating, started throwing up, and pooping blood. they took him to the vet and they wanted to run all kinds of test on him, but my friend cannot afford it. the vet gave him some meds and said to watch him.

they woke up this morning and he was gone... i just hope he went peacefully, and he was with his family that loved him.  Conrad your crazy butt will be very missed, by your mom, dad, and espically your brother, and of course the rest of us that got the pleasure to hang with a dog with apersonality like yours!..... ( they had a baby and got conrad at the same time, they grew up together and Braylin loved that dog more then anything)

i have posted this before but this is a perfect time to repost this for those of you who have lost your pets... they are all waiting for you at the rainbow bridge.....xoxoxo

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.


  All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.


  They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.


  You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

  Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

You know I want to tell people this.....
A few years ago I didn't necessarily believe there was a special place that our beloved pets went when they died. I just "didn't know" I had never ever heard of "Rainbow Bridge"

OK after my dog died I had very vivid dreams of him in a place exactly as you described. They were good dreams, and gave me the strong feeling he actually WAS in a place like this. He was happy, running about. The fields were full of other dogs having fun too. It was a beautiful place. He saw me and rushed to greet me, then we cuddled for a minute, and he took off again chasing another dog, happy as anything.

Hi sweety, how are you. It's been a while since we have spoken and I'm glad to hear from you, but sad that it is the loss of a beloved pet. My deepest condolences on the passing of Conrad and 2 yrs. old was still so very young to die. Unfortunately, sometimes our pets are born defective or ill. My niece was very distraugth last week, because her 8 week puppy named Bear almost died and vet has no idea what the problem is. Bear had 2 blood transfusion, because his blood count was low. He was skin and bones and I lovinly and gently forced fed him and prayed like you would not believe that he lived. Well, God is merciful, Baer is going to make it and yesterday started eating slowly on his own. Today he drank water on his own, but I had to feed him ANYTHING, so I bought baby food, cream of wheat, Farina, applesauce and he is going to be ok. There has to be a better way for Animal Hospitals to help people in financial situations pay for an emergency and treatment. There is pet insurance that is $40 a month and we are going to get it, because Bear is high risk for this again. This is his 2nd round in 2 months after he got vacinated. They think the vacination has effected him, so vet said no more vacinations. At least Conrad died at home and not in a place where he probably hated and with his loved ones. May God bring comfort to his owners and Conrad was also one of God's creations, so he is in good hands. Thank you for sharing and sending hugs your way....Judy
