Baby weight loss

So I know that they lose a little weight after they're born but he went from 8 lbs 6 oz to 7lbs 6oz. Is that to much? The nurse didnt seem concerned but a whole pound seems like a little much.

i don't think a pound is too much but you could always ask the dr. my daughter lost a lil over a pound after she was born then put it right back on

Normal.. they want it back to their birth weight by 2 weeks :)

All babies lose 8-10% of their birth weight then they start gaining weight. The birth is vert traumatic for your baby so they sleep alot the first 24 hours or so. My son lost 8% of hus birthweight but he is gaining it back now. Don't be too worried unless he is not eating well. Also if he is not pooping or peeing regularly.

No it's not. My son went from 6lbs 12oz (he was a 36 weeker) to 5lbs 14oz in the nicu and they still released him to me without weight gain. He's eight weeks old tomorrow and last Wednesday he weighed 8lbs 8oz. He's still in nb clothes and diapers. His pediatrician says he's perfectly fine and gaining weight like he should. We've just had several setbacks with the nicu stay and reflux.

As long as they are gaining and not continuing to lose after their 2w-1 month check up, then everything is fine. Aidyn only gained two ounces in a weeks time due to severe reflux and the ped wasn't worried. Once we got that under some semblance of control, he gained 1 and a half pounds in sixteen days. Just give him time an feel free to call a take him in for weight checks.

Tottaly normal my bby was 1Olb 1onz wen born  in the nicu for almost 2Weeks n was 9Lb 11onz , now hes 2 mnth nd he is 13lb 15onz ... I think before they turn 1yrz is wen they most gain nd loss weight..

My son was born 8lbs 3.5oz and now he's 7lbs 13oz. Its normal for them to lose weight. They'll gain it back.

Yeah my son was 4.11 when he was born and 4.6 when we left the nicu 8 days later.  Hes 7 lbs now

If you are breast feeding its def normal so don't stress n it normal for u to worry about every little thing as a new mom :) i have a 3yr old n a 3month old n i still worry bout every lil thing i got their pedi on speed dial lol
