The day has finally came!

My son is 5weeks today and his circumcision appt was today. Even though our mind was made its still very nerve racking. For anyone wondering about it here is how it went:
Gave tempra for newborn at 11:30am and went in for 12:30. Dr explained to us the procedure and everything to know afterwards. He gave two shots of freezing, my son didnt even notice. He was staring at the room and smiling away. The dr waited three minutes then did the procedure whoch was about four minutes. He did have a little noise of discomfort but didnt cry at all. Everything went well, my hubby didnt faint and i didnt cry lol so yay for us! Once home though, hes really fussy and has a sad cry, so yes i do feel bad that he hurts bt i dont regret it. Should be healed within a week and im glad its over and done with. Little thing to know, my dr told me the freezing probably takes 3/4 of the pain away bt not fully.

I wanted them to do it early but the drs here like to wait until theres a bond between mom and baby.....if it was up to me i would of done it at two days old too. So far with the pain medicine he is doing great :)

I don't know if the doctor told you but it is okay to give him acetaminophen for pain. My two boys seem to feel pretty good a couple days after but they both had it done at two days old so not sure if that would make a difference.
