sleep schedule

So my little one has been sleeping great, except he sleeps about 3am-noon. He wakes up for just one feeding between. He's only a week and a half so I know it's young for an actual sleep schedule, but I'm afraid he'll stay in this routine. Any suggestions on how to get him down earlier at night?

Thanks everyone, yeah, we've been doing the dark at night, light during the day since we brought him home, so hopefully it just sticks eventually. My husband has been great for helping out so I guess we'll get through this!

Unfortunately you just have to wait for his body clock to get on the right night/day schedule.  It will happen just keep daytime light and noisy and nights dark and quiet.

I think at that age you really can't set a routine yet. My LO is 5 weeks now and I'm just being able to start getting her on some type of schedule. I've gotten it to where she only wakes up 2 times, once around 12-1, then again around 4ish. Then she gets up between 730 and 9. But try and get him to eat alot before you try and put him down, it'll make him more sleepy. Also during the day put him out where there's noise, even if its just the tv on or something. Then at night make it really quiet and dark, sleepy time settings. I started doing that right away and I think it helped my LO learn her days and nights better.

Oh my daughter now sleep from about 12-1 till 8.30 or 9.30am and would never go to sleep on her own only in our arms then we'd av sneak her in her basket now we give her her last feed change her put her down n shes asleep within 20 min, it does get easier

My daughter is 10 weeks today n I used to think I would never get a decent nights sleep again or that me n my partner could ever go bed together, your lucky that hes sleeping in such big chunks already my lo used only s me sleep max 2.-3 hours at first.  Hes still very young at a week n half you need to just let him set his own routine he will soon start sleeping longer in the dark and and quiet and have shorter naps during the day. Once hes set his own sleeping pattern which id say won't be till about 4-6 weeks u can then adjust the times to suit you best x

My problem is that we put him down as soon as he'll fall asleep. If we try earlier he just screams :(  last night it was 6am! It's like 2:30 now and he's still sleeping. My husband and I do shifts but I still have to wake up to feed him all night.

I would  start gradually moving bedtime up by like half hour until you get him in bed at a time you like. Your right it can create a harder habit to break farther down the road. It wont take him to long to adjust once you gradually start just push your whole bedtime routine forward as well. Having a set bedtime routine will also help communicate to your baby when its bedtime:)
