8 Mind-Boggling Optical Illusions

I found this article on Yahoo and I thought it was very interesting. It has 8 pictures that are very "Cross-Eying", but give off a cool effect. One makes the object look like it is pulsing when you stare at it. The photo on this post is one of them at this website:

If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you can see the effect it gives off better. :)

That's awesome.I just looked at the enlarged image. It is totally MOVING all over the place. How does that work?

This is part of the article from the web address posted above, describing how it works:

If you’ve ever felt like you go a little cross-eyed after taking a peek at an optical illusion, then you know they can be a pretty intense phenomenon. What your eyes perceive when looking at one of these images is actually a visual illusion; you see the image as something different than what it is because the different cells and receptors in your eyes distinguish images and colors at dissimilar speeds. The eye can only receive a limited amount of visual stimuli, but as your brain constantly processes the visual information, it gives you the illusion of continuous sight. Whether it’s an optical, physiological or cognitive illusion, the design plays a trick on your eyes (and mind). Check out some of the interesting illusions below—but beware, you may not be able to absorb them all in one sitting.

Have you seen those pictures of patterns, where you have to stare at them a while, then suddenly a second 3-D picture appears right in the middle of it!? I don't know what they are called.

I'm not sure. Would it be possible for you to upload a photo of one, so I could look at it?

I used to have some magazine pics of them my mother sent me. I've lost them now. I'll try online, see if I can find them. The trouble is I don't know what they are called, so it's going to be hard to search.

Is it a Stare-E-O? I tried to find something similar to what you have mentioned, and that came up.

Those first pictures are really cool.  I can never find the pictures hiding inside the other ones.  Don't know why, but I just end up with a headache from staring :P

Yes it is a Stare-E-O! (I added a comment to your photo of it)
