Clomid

My Dr. just prescribed me Clomid to help increase my chance of becoming pregnant, and I was wondering one, how effective this is, and two, how dangerous it is. I am 20 years old and married. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010 at age 17.  We have been trying for over six months now. Also my Husband has a three year old from a previous marriage so we know its not him. Also any other suggestions to increase our chances of conceiving

That is awesome! I sorta got my period so I may start the clomid at 50mg on Saturday but I am beginning to think I may already be expecting my "period" is spotty at best and old blood not new blood I took a test Wednesday and it was negative but I'm not sure I've been crying a few times daily for the past two weeks (not normal for me even when PMSing) achey, tired but unable to sleep at night and wicked bad back pain. I may wait another month and then start the clomid if I get a normal period...Not sure what to do my dr said to take it if the test was negative even though my flow is odd. I had a very "normal cycle last month...I just don't know and I'm trying to not get our hopes up.

I will send you lots of baby dust. Just be prepared for the side effects of the clomid that can occur. I had crazy hot flashes but it was all worth it. I did first cycle at 50 mg no success or period then dr put me on progesterone to kick start my period then started clomid 100 mg for round 2 and bam :) our little miracle is due between april 28th-may 1st

I know of ladies who've been successful with clomid. One of them even has twins. I did not have any luck with clomid but I had a lot of other infertility problems besides pcos. Good luck!
