google australia and vaniqa or contact your pharmacy and have them see if it is available.  it really does work wonders and has totally made a difference in my life.  i am 34 and my hair started to really get thick when i was about 19 or 20.  it seemed to level out by about 22 or 23 years old.  i've tryed lots of over the counter stuff and nothing else works...  VANIQA is really a miracle cream for me and if they ever took it off the market i'd be devastated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im, 19 an really need an over the counter fix for my facial hair, i seem to have it quite noticably (dark/Thickish) down the sides of my face, which looks like sideburns, on my top lip, my neck and on my chest an abdomen. It really is awful, i am so self concious of this an i constantly feel as though people are staring, i would like to know if the treatment 'curlydog415' suggested is available in Australia, if not is anyone aware of a similar treatment, something which will definately get rid of my hair, or for it to thin considerably? please help!

I know what you mean! In the summer is when I feel most nervous about people noticing the hair. I too (like mountofolives) dont have that much hair but if you get really close you can tell. The thing that scares me is how fast it spreads/gets thicker. Does it come to a point where it just levels out? I have been growing hair rapidly since it started when I was 19 (4 years ago) and the thing that scares me the most is that I will have to be a woman who has to shave her face.. Does it ever stop? For me it started on the stomach

well the article said that vaniqa is available in canada.  here in the USA it costs about $60 per tube but the tube lasts me about 6 months!!  it is only for the face...  with a little bit of light tweezing and using vaniqa twice daily you cannot tell that i was once a sasquatch, lol!!  i really feel a lot better talking to people when it is bright and sunny out, something that use to make me feel really emabarassed...

I totally relate to you all !!! I was diagnosed with PCOS since 2005 and I too have the facial hair. The good thing is, it's not very thick or overtly noticeable, but if you get up close, then yes....its noticeable ! I hate it sooooo much too !. I've never used over the counter meds or creams, but maybe I will look into the cream CURLYDOG was talking about VANIQA. Is it very expensive? I hope we get it here in Canada. That would be nice !. Anyway, I finally got up the courage to go see a Fertility specialist yesterday and she has me on Provera right now. I have to get a blood test done this morning and then start Metformin aswell. I don't know what all the meds will do to me. I was put on Provera in 2005 when I was diagnosed with PCOS cause my period was absent for 3 mons ( first time in my life)*. I didn't bother to continue the 10 treatment ( pills) I took about 3 or 4 days worth of the pills and then left it. I got my period though within a week of stopping Provera and never took meds after that till now !!!. I have a 7 year old son already but my hubby and I are hoping for another one soon. All in Gods time !!!. Anyway, good luck to you ladies who are going thru the very same thing !. CHeeRS !!!

Hey, WOW that stuff sounds good! I have been doing laser for my inner thighs and bikini line but its so painful! I do like how its going to be gone for good though. However, something tells me I'll have to repeat the treatments sometime in the future anyways. Maybe I will try it out, I'm going to ask my doctor next time I go to her. Thanks

i would look in the net or ask your doctor or pharmacist if it is available in canada.  i use it twice a day (it's a cream) and it has changed my self image 100%!!!!!  it has done wonders for my beard, mustache and hair on my neck!!!  i still pluck a tiny bit, but most people no longer notice that i have a major facial hair problem!!
