Information on metformin/femara combo please. :)

Hey guys, I am a 27 year old female and have been diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis.  I have taken 4 months of clomid up to 150mg and did not produce one egg.  I recently switched doctors and am getting ready to start my first cycle of femara.  I am taking 2.5mg two times a day of femara/letrozole and 1500mg a day metformin.  I am curious about side effects, advice, success stories, etc.  I am anxious and have been TTC for 3 years total, 2 with a doctors assistance.  THANK YOU in advance.  :)

I was also recently diagnosed with PCOS. I am on my 2nd round and had positive ovulation 8 days ago. I went for a progesterone test yesterday. Hopefully the Dr has good news for me.

I went to the dr today after doing my 5th round of clomid in hopes for good results and onto my 2nd iui, turned out the clomid didn't work this time even on 100mg. Dr said he wanted to put me on metformin and femera sp next cycle.
What did you think of the femera?

Thank you so much for the response.  At this time my endometriosis is confined to my right ovary only with no growth in over a year.  I have been seeing a fertility dr and just recently switched to a new one who will be monitoring me better.  I had some crazy emotional side effects with clomid so I'm hoping I won't with femara.  Also, I did not take metformin with clomid so I'm hoping that will help.  :)

Hi,

I am on my first cycle of Femara. I went to the doctor on my CD9 which was yesterday and was told that my follicles were 8mm. She asked me to come in tomorrow and I am jsut waiting for the ovidrel shot. I hope things work well this cycle itself. I have heard Femara is really effective and has less side effects compared to clomoid. Don't stress yourself. Just do your best...

All the best. let me know if you have any questions. I would be glad to help.

HI,
Letrozole is many times effective in women who show no response to clomiphene. Also the metformin will help in normalizing hormones in women with PCOS. If there are no results with letrozole then help with gonodatropins may be necessary. Treatment of endometriosis will depend on its severity. Consult an infertility expert. Do not get disheartened as treatment for infertility may take a few years to give results.
Hope this helps.
