PCOS and tubal pregnancy

So I was diagnosed with PCOS on Aug 10 after TTC for a year with scattered periods and no luck. I started taking Metformin and was instructed by my doctor to take progesteron if I did not start my period within three weeks. Well three weeks later I wanted to be sure that I was not pregnant before taking the medicine. To my extreme surprise it came out positive. I was so excited because this had never happened before! I started bleeding the next day and the doctor assumed I was having a MC but my HCG was at 28. Two day s later it was at 23 and the doctor was positive it was a MC. I was not speaking to the doctor but to the nurse and was not getting the help I wanted to I went to another doctor. After looking at the results from my pervious doctor he also thought it was a MC. He did another HCG test and sent me home with a plan to start after the next few days to TTC again because it was so early in the pregnancy. He called me the next day with my results and they had shot up to 45. After a few more tests my levels had not gone up but stayed the same. We had an ultra sound and it showed fluid in my left tube. I received Methotrexate to abort the pregnancy on Sept 6 and I have continued taking metformin. My doctor has requested we wait three months to TTC again. We are so ready to try again! My question is has anyone else been through this? If so how long did you wait to TTC and how successful were you?

Hi!! Just want to give you some hope! I had the same situation through my first IVF cycle. (I also have pcos). I got the methotrexate shot in October, and started my next IVF cycle in january. My period was delayed. But here is the good news, to make a very long story short....I got pregnant in March on metformin, clomid, and IUI. And my 10 month old daughter is upstairs taking a nap right now!!! Don't give up...be happy that something took, because its a wonderful sign!!! I know it is so frustrating, but the methotrexate saved your tube. Stay positive!!!

Hi there!

The 3 months gap is advised due to the previous tubal pregnancy and the methotrexate, since a pregnancy before that time may not be favourable. After the time gap one can start trying again for favourabe results.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
