Pcos and only get a period every few months

Hi my name is Autumn and I am 24 I had a daughter almost 3 years ago without even trying with my ex, about 2 1/2 years ago i fell madly in love with my now husband. We want so badly to have a baby we have been TTC with no luck i wnt to my doctor and found out I have pcos I was shocked b/c I had my daughter so easily. now I only get my period every 2-3 months and I am so scared that i wont be able to have another baby with the man I so badly want to have childern with. So my question is with having pcos and not having a period every month my chances of having a baby probally arent the best eh? I have another docs appt on the 16th I am on 1000mg of metformin right now and am going to request clomid with the met when i see my doc. Than by november if i am not prego my doc wants to send me for a dye test and to get my hubby a sperm count to make sure he is o.k. I am so worried all I think about all day is baby bbaby baby i know I need to relax and just go "with the flow" but i can't get it out of my head. Sorry for the long post I guess I just needed to vent a little. All my friends have babies or just had babies they dont undersand what pcos is like and how hard it is. So it really nice to find a community that understand where you are coming from.

Thanks
Autumn

well I have been with my db for about 2ys now and I naturally have cycles 3-4x's a yr due to my PCOS and I am now 10wks pregnant. I have no idea how it happened because we have never been pregnant before and we have never used any type of BC. It will happen just be patient and try not to stress. I know its terribly hard but when you least expect it, it will happen.

Seeing that you normally get your period every 2-3 months, you will most likely need (if you start clomid) Provera to help a period come on. I don't want to offend you when I ask this, but are you overweight, normal weight or thin? I only ask because if you are a little overweight, in some cases losing about 10% of your current weight will help with TTC. Also, I know how stessful it can be when you are TTC and thinking about having a baby, BUT sometimes when you ease your mind and relax...it helps big time! It sets a total different setting and sometimes when you least expect it, you get pregnant. It's good your on Metformin. Over time with being on Metformin it will help regulate your cycle, and also when you do get pregnant (because with those who have PCOS it increases the chances of miscarriages) you will take this up to your 20th week which helps reduce the risk to miscarry.
