I am 38 and have suffered with varying degrees of acne since the age of 14. Didn't start my period until I was 17 and suspect that I've been a long-term sufferer of PCOS. Never thought I could get pregnant due to late start of menstrual cycle, as well as continual irregular periods over the years. But I did and now have a beautiful 12 year old son. However, ironically, now my periods are literally every 28 days (like clockwork), yet my other symptoms related to PCOS seem to have become a lot worse. I have suffered with chronic cystic (and what I believe to be hormonal) acne for the last 4 months, have noticed that my hair has thinned terribly and am an absolute nightmare every 7 days preceding my monthly bleed. I also have noticed that my face is somewhat hairier, with me sprouting a number of thick, black hairs around my chin area which I have to remove on monthly basis. Am due the results of my bloods next week and give up if they come back negative. Just wanted to know whether it was possible for me to have PCOS, yet still fall pregnant? Having said that, although I only had 2 long-term relationships (including the one with my child's father) which involved intimacy, it technically took me over 5 years to fall pregnant when I had the potential to (as I didn't use contraception for either of my serious relationships). Thanks for taking the time to read my question. All informative responses would be greatly appreciated.
