If you are diabetic AND your doctor prescribed it, then yes you should take it. If you are not diabetic and/or your doctor did not prescribe it, then no, you should not take that Metformin. You need to go back and see your gynecologist to find out the next step.
hi im not diabetic and i think im thin enough. but what am i supposed to do if my doctor says that im no longer to get pregnant. it kills me when she say that.. what i supposed to do by that?please someone help me.. im afraid to see that doctor again
Then definitely don't take the Metformin. It's for diabetes and can have ill effect on a non-diabetic.
It's quite possible the doctor is simply being real with you. With blocked fallopian tubes, it's going to be next to impossible, and the PCOS already would have made it difficult alone. However, you need to either talk to her about whether or not there is a way to unblock your tubes. If you want, it is well within your rights to be seen by another gynecologist.
If you have blocked fallopian tubes most docs are able to do surgeries to unblock it. And i am not diabetic but my RE gave me metformin to try and help me have a period along with progesterone, instead it made me ovulate. I haven't had a period since December but i am now 13 weeks pregnant. But if your fallopian tubes are blocked then ovulating won't help you any.
see another doctor, get more than one!!!
metformin is not only for diabetes its for ppl who have PCOS and lack a a certain hormone that is needed early in the pregnancy, I don't have diabetes but I do have mild PCOS and it had 2 miscarriages, the doc then put me on metformin and I conceived my first cycle on it and I took it till I was 12 weeks I am currently 20 weeks pregnant, its worth a try
